Hi from the Netherlands

Let me introduce myself, as a new member of this forum: I am Paul, 57 years old, live in the south of the Netherlands (which is not so far from the north of the Netherlands...
) and I just became the owner of a Tiger Explorer 1200 XRx from 2016. That takes some getting used to, after having ridden a Triumph Thunderbird 1600 for 8 years . And before that 4 years on a BMW R1200C cruiser.
But with good plans for long-distance trips, it was time to exchange the cruisers for a touring bike. In any case, this Tiger drives a lot lighter and smoother, compared to the Thunderbird it quickly saves 80 kilos. Now I can probably keep up with my buddies a bit easier on mountain tours...
Maybe see you in beautiful places and and on curvy roads.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good information here.
On the Tiger, you should easily keep up with your buddies. It excels as a tourer, corners pretty well, and has the grunt to pull away on the straights, even two-up.

to the family, Paul. You chose wisely with the '16 TEX. They are a fabulous bike. We'd love to see some pics of your new ride in your beautiful country!

Hope you enjoy your Tiger.
If you are looking to tour, please consider visiting Britain - it’s a very pretty little island!

Paul.
You will find the Tiger very capable on twisty mountain roads (which is my favorite riding)
I love the way the power is delivered form the triple engine, and it is surprising agile for a tall bike (if you are brave enough to push it)
Cheers

Thanks. I was there last year, doing the Hadrian's Wall walk. Loved it. Even with the rain

Thanks Phil. It's not a question if, but rather when...
My sister lives in Hastings, really like the English (and Welsh and Scottish...
) landscapes for walking.
