Crash and touring protection, just in case.

With lockdown carrying on I have tried to use my time productively finishing off the Tex ready for a long planned group tour of the Alps and Dolomites in June, even though I seriously doubt it will happen this year, it has at least kept me busy.
As the tour will involve a lot of challenging passes and hairpins, some of which will be in Italy with Italian drivers, I have majored on crash protection in case I run out of talent, or I meet a driver whom has run out of talent
. It's a sort of Murphy's Law, if I prepare thoroughly to crash, then I probably wont.
I've opted for R&G bobbins on the swing arm and front axle, a Triumph folding gear change lever, Triumph lower engine bars and Heed upper bars (not a bad colour and finish match but a slight difference is visible in bright sunlight), and finally Bark Busters. The only other additions are a Triumph tall touring screen and a Denelli sound bomb mini. It's taken a few years to put this lot together, and the Tex has done a bit of touring during its five and a half year life, but nothing as full on as the Alps and Dolomites tour. I think I'm there now, unless anyone has any further suggestions, and I thought some members may be interested to see my set up.

Thank you Glenn389, I do try, and she only has 21K miles on the clock which helps, some of the ardent members of the forum would do that in a year.

Try out a screen spoiler, they make a big difference in reducing helmet noise which I find quite fatiguing on long journeys. Something like

or if you are not convinced there are cheap copies for €15 (including postage) on the usual chinese websites. I have been running a cheap chinese one for a while now and it is well worth it.

I wouldn't worry about that mileage Mark, 95% won't. The red paint is really popping on that bike, very nice.

Fairly convinced mine didn't look that good the day it left the showroom

I have looked at them before and thought they looked hideous, but the head buffeting does get wearing by the end of the day. If the tall screen doesn't fix it I might give it a go, after all £15. is not lot. Thank you XCaTel.
