I have been using the same Ram ball mount for the past 12 years, moving it from bike to bike. It is a D clamp type. I have used it as a replacement for a switch cube clamp on an ST1300, on the windshield bar of my TEX, on the handlebars of an R1100R, a V-strom, and currently a Himalayan. No issues and no torque wrenches required.

Wow, two decimal points, as Will mentions I suspect. Cheers Catman88, great shame.  :187:

FWIW, the design of those things seems to have changed. They did not originally have the shoulder on them. I wonder if the original had a steel shank, which was replaced by an alloy shank? Or maybe, they just slimmed the shank down to make it look nicer.

Just curious, did you torque your bolts to 26NM, and do they still look like the picture on the right. When you get a chance can you go take a close look :467: thanks.

Its on my XR now and the torque is 19Nm, but its tight and as far as I can tell, its not deformed ..Ill try and snap a pic

EDIT: OK here is what it looks like

Sometimes I read someone's post and it goes right over my head.  ("Great shame :187:"). XCaTel,  :431: if you think I was trying to shame you, that was not my intentions.  You asked  me to post some pictures of my torque wrench and I did.  I always thought the scale on the wrenches were kind of funky and thought others could learn from the conversation and the pics.  I always  appreciate your contribution to this forum, and you have helped me a lot,  I had to unsubscribe from your YouTube channel because I am boycotting Youtube forever due to their discrimination on free speech.  There was no shame intended  :003:

Oh, no worries at all, I don't take life too seriously unless it needs to be.  :028:  YouTube and others, yes, I'm not sure I want people deciding on my behalf what I can or can't watch, read or listen too based on their judgement rather than mine, social media has got very 1984, and we always thought it would come from the right, how wrong I was!  :005:

I have used RAM Mounts on several Quads (extensive off rod)on vehicles and now my tiger.  Never a problem.  Mind you have found fakes before, I buy direct from Rammount always.
