Changing coolant on a 1200 xrt 2018.
on: June 09, 2021, 10:29:15 PM
Does the gas tank have to be removed to bleed the system of air ? How much coolant do l need. Is there just the one crushwasher to be changed on the drain plug in front of the left hand cylinder.  I'm familiar with the 800 tiger but not so much with the 1200 xrt.  Help !!

I only have experience with the 2013 model, but the tank blocks access to the bleed port screw.  You must at least move it out of the way to access the screw.  I don't know how practical it is to lift or prop the tank up for access to the bleed screw, when I did this, the tank was already off.  But at bare minimum, you have to move it back and up to slide it off the mounting posts, and I don't know if you can do that with all hoses still attached.  Try and see?

One crush washer, for the block drain plug.
