Hello everyone.

I’m new to the adventure bike world, so starting this journey with a 2018 XCA. Looking for general info around motorcycle holidays in UK and Europe. Also are there any must have mods that folks have done to their bikes.

Cheers

Jim

Hi and welcome. Upper crash bars, cheaper in the long run to fit now before you drop it. Wales has some fantastic roads and scenery for touring,(im doing 4 days next week on my xcx ). Brecon beacons and mid wales are very dramatic. Devon/cornwall good aswell.

Thanks Bazthebike, I did look at the SW upper crash bars.

Wales is certainly on the list of places to go.

Thanks again!!

I also have a 2018 XCA & love it  :467:
Depending on your height you might want to fit bar risers, as taller people tend to get a bit of lower back pain due to the bars being on the low side.  I have Rox risers which are adjustable for rake as well.
Also, as I do a few longer tours / full days in the saddle I fitted fold-up highway pegs to the engine bars so i can stretch my legs out.

Have fun with the new ride  :002:

Hi Jim, and  :400: from West Sussex!

I’m sure you will love your Tiger - most of us love ours.

Best roads?  Where do we start?

E Yorkshire Wolds
N York Moors
Dales
Northumbria
Lake District
Wales
N Devon
I’ve done most of them over time, but it’s Wales that keeps drawing me back in.

Hope this helps.

I second the 'Wales' comment, although I am bias as live close to N. Wales so have done lot of my riding there  :467:
Also you might want to consider the North Coast 500 for a UK trip - not been there, but planning to get up to Scotland before the end of the summer if possible.

Thanks all.

I’m planning on the NC500 next year when it’s a little quieter. I’ll hopefully get to Wales for a weekend over summer, North Wales is only a few hours from me so a weekend should be enough time.

Loving the bike so far, it’s a totally different experience to my previous and other bike.

Jim.

Eyup! Welcome to the Tiger clan, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The bike is as close to ideal for Yorkshire roads as any adventure style bike, it takes the surfaces and potholes in its stride and it's also handy being able to see over the stone walls on tight lanes in the Dales too.
As for touring, Wales is a good bet, as is Scotland, I'm going north of the border in a few weeks for my holiday to see some places I didn't last time and go back to a few others that were great, or would've been it wasn't pissing down at the time! For Europe, anywhere you fancy going would be fine, once we're allowed to go properly. France and Italy are my favourites, but next year I'm going to Spain/Portugal for a trip that has been deferred since last year but should happen next May, looking forward to that one.
You'll love the Tiger, safe riding!  :306:
