However there appears to be a supply problem & they were unavailable when I need them. This may be related to stocks being run down in anticipation of the new Road 6 that is now available in some sizes but not yet our Tigers.

Well I’ve ended up with the Avon Trekriders as my local tyre guy couldn’t get the Michelin Adv’s. Looking forward to trying them out on my next wild camping trip, so I’ll report back…

That’s good to hear. I almost went with the Trail’s but thought I’d give the more aggressive Trek a go.

They’ve turned up and tbh they ‘look’ great, pretty chunky. Cheaper than the Michelins (and actually available) so I’m looking forward to seeing how they feel once they are fitted…
Be interesting to see how they handle on tarmac, especially in the wet, given the 50:50 tread design.

Just over 10,000 miles on my bikes stock Tourance Next tyres..
Pretty good mileage for a heavy tourqey bike in my opinion.
Mine are certainly NOT noisy, and I can say I have had any issues in the 2,000 miles I have owned the bike..
I am seriously considering replacing with the same in a months time..

Avon Trailriders.
5-6,000 miles from a rear, over twice that from a front.
Good grip dry or wet. No noise issues.

Well, I finally got these fitted as I squeezed a little bit more mileage out of the original tyres even though they felt square-rubbish! Plus, tbh, I’ve not ridden the Tiger that much partly due to spending far too much time and money on track/racing over the last 12months.
We’ve not done many miles yet and no wet riding at all but I’ve got to say initial impressions on the road are very good. Obviously new tyres always feel mint but for such a chunky tread design they feel very comfortable and assured on the tarmac. Not noisy either.
Off on our animal pilgrimage to TT next week so they’ll get a proper test then but I already know they’ll be fine even with the very limited mileage I’ve put on them.

Just to update, IMHO the Dunlops out performed the Road 5s in reality, not just paper. The bike is sharper, quicker to turn in, with impressive grip levels in both wet and dry conditions, and overall it just feels lighter. I can't compare with the Road 6's as I've not used them, but the Dunlops performed admirably in the Vosges last year, and a new pair are going on before going to the Alps and Dolomites in July.
