The Tiger 1200 has pretty good valve service intervals, 32,000 km / 20,000 miles and it swayed my decision when I bought the bike. What other bikes do you know or have experience of with long valve service intervals in the Adventure/Tourer/Sport-Tourer class? Or did you ever have a bike with very short and/or expensive intervals? Harley and Ducati seem to be paving the way on this, hats off to them.

Harley Pan America - non, never needs doing, hydraulic valve system  - EPIC!

    Ducati V4S - 60,000 km / 36,000 miles - EPIC! (but I couldn't live with the reported fuel consumption)

BMW 1250GS - 20,000km / 12,000 miles - not great these days but do the dealers charge a lot for the service as access is easy? (I genuinly don't know, if an 1250 owner can comment)

For the 20.000 km service of my R1250 GS, softwareupdate and new brakepads included, I paid about 60%, compared to the 32.000 km service for the Explorer.
    Not bad!
