    Suspension Problems

Ive just bought from the main dealer a Tiger 1200 XRT gen 3

Rode home 45 miles no problem.

Went to go out the next day with my daughter on the back. The Tsas warning came on within 1 mile of leaving home.

I switched it off got off the bike and allowed it to recalibrate which it did.

However when I looked there was a large pool of oil under the rear shocker.

The main dealer said they will replace the unit under warranty, normal cost £1500 circa.

Has anyone else had this problem ? Is it common on the active suspension models?

Got to say its put me off the bike a bit

My friend with a Gen 2 (23,000 miles) had exactly the same issue..
You CAN have them rebuilt (despite what dealers may tell you)..
There are several companies that will do it (Firefox racing in Keighly is one)..
My mate bought a used low mileage one off eBay and has kept his old unit with a view to having it refurbished.

It is not an endemic problem with this bike, you can rest easy.

I've just had mine replaced under warranty which was spotted during the annual service with only 4,500 miles on the clock.
