    Starter Switch not working issue.

Hi all, I'm looking for some help with my 2019 Tiger 1200 and in particular the start/stop switch.
It's keyless ignition and for some time now I've been having intermittent issues with the switch not working - as in you press the bottom of the rocker switch and it doesn't do anything...it doesn't even unlock the bars...nothing, zilch, nada!  :003:
It's got gradually worse over time but after a bit of rocking back and fore, it usually starts.  Today, no matter what I did, it wasn't playing.
    Questions:
    1. Is there any other way to start the bike if this rocker switch doesn't work...any secret system to use etc?
    2. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what did you do about it?
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Daz.

There is an RFID reader on the right side of the rear fender, if the cell in the fob is the problem. If you haven’t already done so, you might replace that cell and see if it makes any difference.

The reader is on the left side if I'm not mistaken, it is on my 2018 anyway, see your user manual for location. But it is a good suggestion by WDG to try using your wireless key or spare key to see if it is wireless related. The wireless keyfob will work without a battery just like the spare keys on that reader. That will at least rule out the wireless part of the ignition system.

Did you put risers on? The cables from the switch cubes are push fit and can be pulled out easy enough. They should be held in place with a cable tie around a tab on the switch cube. Check both left and right. I damaged my left and the bike was failing to start.

It’s not the same issue I had is it.  The key fob can be turned on and off and mine turned off in my pocket.  You turn it on and off by holding the triumph symbol.

I even replaced the battery thinking it was the issue.  Then I realized.  I hope it’s just that for you too.

And just in case. The wireless key has a very short range, rest it on the seat for optimum starting. It can be out of range even up by the fuel filler.
