    Diagnostic Tool
    on: August 26, 2022, 03:06:53 am

Can anyone recommend a good diagnostic tool/reader?  I am picking up my new 2023 Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer and would like to get a tool to help with reading DTC's, service light reset, and general problem trouble shooting of my bike, I am not looking at reprogramming fuel maps.  My dealer is 1200 miles oneway from where I live... Any help would be greatly appreciated.  :467:

I am using Dealertool for my Tiger 2018 and it should work with your bike as well. http://dealertool.co.uk/
Education is important, but riding your bike is importanter.🏍

Are you using a pc laptop or Apple with boot camp or windows parallel?  I have a MacBook Pro and would like to try installing windows on it. Just would like feed back if anyone has done it this way. Pro vs cons

So I ended up using my MacBook Pro with Bootcamp and installed Windows 10 (DealerTool told me this version would work best as long as it is 64Bit).  Now I have two separate operating systems on my laptop, only takes a minute to switch from IOS to Windows....  The DealerTool works great!

Good to know. Having a good relationship and being close to the dealer I've not bothered yet.

Stunning location up where you are. Was luck to take the ferry up from Port Hardy but didn't get any further north.
Spent the afternoon in Breakers pub watching the eagles patiently waiting on the salmon guts from the filleting tables on the jetty  :008:

Has anyone had success in resetting their service indicator on the new 1200 Tigers with the Dealertool or TuneECU?  Last I checked, it wasn't possible just yet.  Just checking if things have changed.

I need to get my hands on a Gen4 to hopefully sort this for TigerTool. Unfortunately I don't know anyone reasonably local to me (Devon, UK) who has a suitable bike for me to have an hour with, and you're too many 1000s of miles away!

Would it be too much effort to knock up a custom tool (software) that a gen4 owner could download, run, go through a predetermined set of exercises to capture the codes, then email a result back to you?
Or alternatively could you write out the steps you would take on a gen4 bike, send the instructions to a gen4 owner (who has an OBD dongle) and they send you back the results?

Just thinking aloud here.  Sadly I don't have a gen4 to help.  -Have successfully used TigerTool on my gen3 to clear the 'spanner'.
