I'm off fellas - my time with the Gen 3 is over

My 2018 Gen 3 Tiger has just gone after 40K km and nearly five years of ownership. Just want to say many thanks to all those on the forum who contributed to this vibrant and useful site. My interest in the Tiger 1200 started off with my test ride which I posted here back in 2017, I bought one on the back of that. I did go through a bit of a rocky patch, which tested my patience.
In the first 18 months it had spent 63 days off the road looking for a fix which was a long time coming. But with that behind me the bike has performed flawlessly and in great comfort, I don't regret buying it. I did test ride the new Gen 4 Tiger but in the end my 29" legs had it in for me. Had there been a low chassis model I might have pulled the trigger but alas there is nothing at this stage in the bikes development.
You would think now the world is my Oyster, such choice! Actually it doesn't quite turn out like that. I have a pillion requirement, I am heavy enough
and have a 29" leg. I also want my replacement bike to be less top heavy and lighter than my current Gen 3. I'm another 5 years older, the wrong side of 60 and have a few extra creaking bones. The search is on, I'm going to see what is out there.
I am lucky enough to still own my 1995 Triumph Daytona 1200 and a 2018 Honda CB1100EX so I am not at a loss for two wheels. Neither are distance bikes and I do like to ride during the winter so I'll just have to slum it for a while.
See you chaps
and thanks again to all those that made the forum great.

Sorry to see you go.
Let us know what you end up with for a long distance bike that handles a pillion and luggage.
With 10 or more years on you, I will be doing likewise some time in the near future. -When I can no longer handle a tall top-heavy bike. But for the time being, my Tiger is it for me.
Regards,
Ken.

Oh no!
One of my all-time favorites on this very forum!
(and I'm not saying that because I fell in love with Ireland 20+ years ago ;-)
No one here to blame you of course. And your time here proved a much valuable contribution to us all.
Thanks to you and good luck!
PS: since you still haven't found what you're looking for, here it is ;-)

Keep us all posted on what you buy next. I am in similar position. 68+, 28" inside leg riding gen2 xcx. I lowered it 20mm when i bought it 5 years ago. I purchased a 900gt in june 2021 to replace the explorer but i still have and use explorer. (Actually took explorer to south of france couple months ago.).Still not convinced on 900 having put about 6000 miles on it. I still look but dont see anything to really excite me.
