Is that works on gen3? Does anybody tried?

Excellent find on the video. I had been holding the fob on the wrong side.

    Hi all,

a week ago I started the motorcycle without any issues and I had my first ride for this year. Today I tried to start it and the only response I got was a flashing red light on the top of TFT and when pressing the start button there is a beeping sound. I checked the battery level of charging and it is 12.8V and I changed the FOB battery (from the wireless key). I am wondering what can be the issue?  Any suggestions, please? :087: :087: :087:

Just bought a 2018 tiger yesterday.  Watched the guy start and run the bike.  Loaded it up brought it home, and it was dead, except for the mention blinking red LED on the tft display. Replaced the battery in the FOB, and now it works, but after reading thru this thread.  Apparently this is a known issue. The battery wasnt dead in the fob. So you have to solder the battery connections in the FOB?

I have this issue sometimes but I just put the key next to the sensor which is on the left hand side of the bike on the Gen 3 as attached. Don't fancy soldering the key.

The batteries go pretty quickly in the fobs. If you press and hold the Triumph button on the fob it will turn it off. A quick press shows you the status - green, on; red, off. This helps preserve the battery life.

For further trips, I always take 2 wireless keys with me. Less stress. One time was necessary.

I stopped doing that years ago and never had a problem with fob batteries ever since.
Either it's a new thing with the Gen4 design (again), or you guys are experiencing the prong problem described somewhere on here (i.e., bad battery contact inside the fob; alledgedly easily corrected).

On my FOB, when it stopped working,  the former owner said he had replaced the battery just last month.  I checked the battery, and it measured 3 volts.  And the bike would not start.  Replaced the battery (2032) with a new one measuring at 3.3 volts and it so far is working again. So yes I am now turning the FOB off when not in use.  First time tiger owner, and this fob not working thing is quite a worry.  Since I bought this bike used, I dont have any dumb keys with it yet.

I did the hold the FOB on the receiver under the seat thing, and it did work.  But I had to take off the seat to actually have it work.  Holding on the outside of the rear area, dod not work for me.

I see from the 'First Ride' of the new 1200 Scrambler in Motor Cycle News, that The latest model has done away with Keyless and now uses a key! Perhaps there has been a bit of learning for Triumph?
