Idem for the "Sump Guard". They gave the original one after mounting it (Delay 2 month).
Except the Denali D4 lights, all the optional parts where ordered at the same time, when I ordered the bike.
I got it with all the options I bought, except the top case (Givi Trekker 58l. Delay 2,5 month)

May be I'll go to England to see Steve (a bike thing) to install the EZcan later. (I've to make money before :) )

HEX ezCAN Tagus/ Triumph spec. and ezCAN extension cable kit arrived from A Bike Thing today! 

In order to save myself from some tedious work I had also ordered a couple of Y-splitter kits. But I wasn't aware that the ezCAN extension cable kit has ready-made lengths of cable finished with connectors! That's really excellent. With the Y-splitter I am really saved for work. The ezCAN extension cable kit comes with 2 ready made long cables, ideal for auxiliary front lights. 1 length finished with 6,3mm spade terminals for utility like horn, 1 short length for aux utility like a brake light.

There is additional connectors and pins both in the ezCAN box and in the cable kit box. It's all there to make up your own cable sets and configuration as required. With added ready made Y-splitters, the aux headlight installation can be true plug-and-play! This will be perfect for my installation.

Shipment with Denali D3's and D7's with brackets are expected tomorrow. I guess Friday or Saturday will be saved in the garage then. 


The boxes from ezCAN look the same... But marking identifies the content.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing Bjorn!  I too ordered from Steve and he shipped out right away.  Should be receiving mine here in the states early next week.  I only went with the D3 fog lights with selective yellow lenses to replace my existing ones (no soundbomb or addiitonal lights) and Steve said everyhting I needed for true plug n play was included in the bundle he had on his website.  Seems like he knows how to put these together for everyone based on their needs to make it easier.

I'm curious what are other people setting up on their 1200REs with it?

I ordered one direct from hex just to use as a PDM on my 1200RE and it arrived just in time for my bike to head into the shop for bulletin 604.. Mine also came with a few pigtails for connecting stuff.

I don't plan to add much electronics besides phone/gps charging and heater gear outlets. This seems like a convenient way to control those as well as some future-proofing in case I do want to add some more bling later. Also between these and other electronic PDM the price difference didn't seem so large.

I wish they would send messages to factory parts too so I could get e.g. the stock rally lights to stay on with high beam or tweak the way auto-cancelling signals work.

Sadly that's not possible but you can easily add a relay, controlled by the ezCAN, to achieve the same thing with the OEM fog lights. I did something similar a few years ago.

I don't know why it wouldn't be possible. They must have reverse-engineered the messages from triumph, that's how they can trigger events on their own hardware based on CAN bus messages from stock buttons.

I have been at companies where we did this also - listen to can bus, send some other messages.

The guy from biker bars (youtube guy who promotes ezcan) said it was only because they don't want to affect warranty. However, I doubt triumph is logging all canbus communication.

Indeed they did monitor and decipher the CAN bus messages, I know this because I provided a lot of the information to them.

The Triumph system reports the status of the various switches, lights etc. but there doesn't appear to be a way to safely instruct, say, the lights to turn on. If you try to transmit using the same CAN ID to turn something on or off, all manner of unpredictable things happen and no sooner has your message been sent then the bike's various ECUs, instruments and even the LED headlights may override your message.

It's very easy to simply monitor and react to the CAN-bus data to control aftermarket accessories, so that's exactly what ezCAN do.

T800XC, that’s the way I understand it, too.

Thanks for your help and info on this. I’ve been adding accessories to CAN bus bikes for decades, and the ezCAN is amazing at what it offers, even if that is limited to read-only status on the local network.

Much safer to just control its own outputs and leave the bike’s network alone.

What I’m still trying to find out is if there’s a way to use the bike’s own switches to temporarily shut off the low beam. You can do this on CAN bus BMWs by manipulating the turn signal switches in a certain sequence, but I haven’t yet found a similar sequence for the Tigers.

This would allow me to kill the low beam and just run selective yellow fog lights in dense fog situations.

I can't be for sure but didn't Steve from A Bike Thing demonstrate how to do it with a Tiger?  Something like press the turn signal in for 3 sec and then use the menu toggle switch up or down.

Correction on the ezCAN/CANsmart adjustments while riding.  I watched Steve's video again and he covers it quite well.

To turn both sets of aux lights off/on, press the turn signal switch in 3x.  This works on both sets at the same time. EDIT: both sets may not be true.  I wish ask about a clarification on this.

To adjust the intensity of a set of lights, Set 1 or Set 2, from 0-100% you use the joystick.  To put Set 1 into programming mode, push the joystick UP for 3 seconds until the lights flash 2x, then you can use the joystick up or down to change the intensity in 10% increments.  For Set 2, press the joystick DOWN for 3 seconds until the lights flash 2x.
