Hi folks, general chat, I've just been reading about the recent ban on motorbikes - petrol ones in the national park of the High Pyrenees, I'm due to be tripping over soon, a fantastic area for the explorer, hope it doesn't cause a problem.
There's lots of other great roads to be scratching on. Or get an electric bike.

I saw this a few weeks back and looked it up out of interest. From what I can tell, the park is high mountains with very few roads (see Google map), there is only one 'main' road that runs across the park. From what the news articles have also said, the Spanish motorcycling groups are contesting the legality of such a ban too, considering how many motorcycles there are in Spain, then I'd be surprised if it actually stays.

Other than that, the are itself seems very easy to avoid, the famous N260 runs to the south of the park and most of the big passes are to the west of the park and actually most are in France anyway! Hopefully they will back down, but even if it is enforced, like you said, there's plenty of other roads and places to visit.

Most of the area is off road, no problem for roads, in Pyrinees you have thousands of roads to enjoy....

Sounds a bit like its aimed at stopping off roaders?
