Avon Trekrider initial impressions…

I got these fitted recently as I squeezed a little bit more mileage out of the original oem Metzeler tyres even though they felt square-rubbish! Plus, tbh, I’ve not ridden the Tiger that much partly due to spending far too much time and money on track/racing over the last 12months but do have various trips planned for remainder of this year.

I’ve not done many miles yet and no wet riding at all but I’ve got to say initial impressions on the road are very good. Obviously new tyres always feel mint but for such a chunky tread design they feel very comfortable and assured on the tarmac. Not too noisy either.

We are off on our animal pilgrimage to TT next week so they’ll get a proper test then but I already know they’ll be fine even with the very limited mileage I’ve put on them.

They also look very cool on the bike imo so if I can work out how to post a pic I will. I’ll also try and update this Trekrider specific thread as I put more miles on them in varying conditions, including some light off-road hopefully. I’ll also report on how they wear and subsequently feel/handle with increased mileage, luggage and pillions.
