Clutch Buzz on 2018 Tiger 1200 XCA
« on: March 27, 2019, 12:58:36 PM »
Hi All

2018 XCa !600 Miles.

I have the buzzy clutch at 3000rpm. I can turn it on and off like a switch just by applying slight pressure to the clutch lever,

Have spoken to the dealer and they have ridden it. They agree it happens but are not sure what to do about it but have suggested re torquing the engine bolts.

Does anyone know of a solution, Its firkin annoying!!

Check all the plastic fairing. There's a good chance something is loose somewhere. Something similar happened to me and drove me nuts until I found out what it was with the previous tiger.

My 2015 TEx has done this since new. I had a new clutch installed under warranty to attempt to cure it but it has stayed the same. Bike now has 25k miles and it hasn’t got any worse. Best solution is just to ride at higher revs!

Its just that 3000 rpm seems to be such a normal place for the engine to be. its pulling nicely then emits a horrible resonance. I am on the verge of putting an elastic band on the lever just to hold it in a little.

I am wondering if there is any sort of adjustment/shimming etc that can be done to tune out the buzz.
