Title: AS3 bars and sump guard fitted to Gen-3 Tiger - pic heavy!
Post by: Hax on September 09, 2019, 03:17:15 PM
Since no one seemed to know about the bars from AS3 so I decided to take a punt and get a set:

https://www.as3performance.co.uk/triumph-tiger-1200-xca-xcx-2018-2019-as3-performance-crash-bars-guards-black/

Images on the site weren't great so after a call to Ben and a copy of the instructions I decided to get them and the sump guard.
I'm not planning anything offroad (as there's virtually no access anywhere in Scotland  :013:) so these were only intended by me for a low speed topple protection and the likes (and a bit of aesthetics  :034:)

All fitted in no time with the exception of 2 bolts that had been down to reuse the originals. There's not enough length so this will be addressed by Ben for future orders (I had others in the garage anyway).

Mounting is 3 points either side: radiator mount, blanked off m8 down by the sump and up under the clocks subframe.
I know the previous Gen bikes were susceptible to the clocks subframe snapping in a fall so not sure if these will help or put more load into there in an incident  :084:
They will accomodate the factory foglights that I don't have. (might have to get a set to fill in the gaps!!!)

Pleasure to deal with at AS3 - speak to Ben. Penrith based so might be local to some.

Welding and finish is top quality.

Here's some pictures anyway.

Very nice and look better and offer far better protection than the OEM Triumph ones.
I have a GEN 1 Tex with Givi bars that again are better than OEM.
Never understood why Triumph didn't do more elaborate engine bars with integrated spot lights
similar to the BMW GS.
On a big heavy bike you want as much protection as possible.

Sump guard looks very nice.

The crash bars look nice as well, but from the front it almost appears as if your Tiger has a mustache!  :001:

:034: yea, looks like they're shaped to accommodate the fog lights that would fill in the gaps.
